As the weather warms, we are getting closer to announcing an opening date at River Run Sparta. We’ve brought back the seasonal staff to begin cleaning up the course from the mess Mother Nature leaves behind each spring. While we still have some wet and soft spots on the course, we hope they will firm up soon. We also have some fertilizer applications that need to be applied this week, which will be watered into the grass with the rain we’re expecting on Saturday.
We’re excited to welcome golfers back to River Run Sparta; however, we all must be patient with Mother Nature and the ever-changing spring weather. We’re aware that a couple of other courses in the area are open, but please remember that each course has different soils, drainage, etc. Our course is built around a river system, swamp land and a lake, and even in the heat of summer, we have wet spots. This means we don’t dry out and firm up as quickly as courses with better drainage.
We’re getting closer and will be sure to post updates as we near the opening date.
